I don't have favorites, but I have songs I like by everyone. Some are too old for some people. LOL Big fan of 80's and before, or 80's and after, and I like hit singles, not albums. After all, I am the radio edit man. All the hits. And I don't mean "Today's Best Music..." either... Hits from different decades.

Wow, this is a tough one. :)
I don't nkow all the names (it's a shame) and it's hard to list them in a particular order since there are so many different styles out there, .. just think of the numbers as a way of separating them rather than ranking their quality.

1. Mike Patton - Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Tamahawk (the guy's vocal range is stunning, his screaming sends cold sweat down my back, he can sing any style from Death Metal to BroadWay and romantic stuff, a crazy guy).
2. Brett Anderson - Suede (good range, very mellow dramatic, I hated his voice at first but now I love it, very distinctive, very British, a little feminine at times but his love songs e.g. are very pretty and his falsetto is unsurpassed).

3. Thom York - Radiohead (Very powerful, sometimes subdued voice, his vibrato is amazing, songs like Street Spirit can bring one to tears, better at doing the depressing/paranoid/angry thing .. he does not scream as a rule but he can .. I'v seen them live and songs like the National Anthem and Paranoid Android he really rocks out and lets go)

4. Bono - U2 (let's face it, the guy's voice is amazing, his melodies are famous and a part of any person's musical portfolio, very strong voice, I am not a big U2 fan really but songs like (In the Name of Love) are just song with such stadium-quality and power that you hafve to really appreciate it).

5. Nena Pearson - the Cardigans (I know my girl friend strongly disagrees, but her voice is very misrepresented in "LoveFool" it's very untrained but conveys emotions very well and is pretty cute, songs ike "Erase Rewind" and "For What It's Roth" show her true side very well)

6. Bjork (She's very unique, I would necessarily call her a good singer but she's stretched the envelop of popular music and I think she's done a lot of amazing things + she definitely can sing, just check out songs like Bachelorette, and if you come across her unplugged MTV performance from 97 ot 98 it's a fantastic one)

7. the singer from the Music (this is a young band from Leeds, UK, his goicce is sort of a cross bbetween Bono from U2 and Perry Farrell from Jen's Addiction, very strong, very high, very emotional, very very amazing).

8. 3d from Massive Attack (I guess he is more of a rapper than a singer, but he practically invented whispering on tracks and his ovacals are just plain scary, very accellerating, if you don't believe me listen to "Mezzanine" at night on an aerplane .. epsecially during takeoff or turbulance, there's something fitting about it, the uneasyness, a little bit of dread, it's a fascinating experience)

9. Madonna (now her voice is totally processed and live I've heard she is a truly horrible singer but I still really like her voice and a lot of her songs are amazing, like Frozen, the Power of Good Bye and, of course, all the silly 80s tunes)

10. Jarvis Cocker from Pulp (more amusing than a good singer, great lyrics, very cool voice, check out Common People, Disco 2000 or f.e.e.l.in.ng.c.a.l.l.e.d.l.o.v.e. (feeling called love) from their "Different Class" album)

I have lots more and I'm sure I forgot someone I really like on this list but, heck, this is the best I can do <grin>
cheers
-B

Marilyn Manson..that guys voice just sends shivers up and down my entire body and when you hear him live its unlike anything else his voice is the kind I'd kill for.

Varney. Sopor Aeternus its been described as a disembodied spirit in deep emotional agony, his voice is powerful full of saracasm and scathing in its sweetness.

Alistair MacFarlane.my brother this is an unashamed plug
he has the most incredibly sensual gothic tenor voice ive ever heard it twists and writhes with sexual desire, but at the same time the gothic edge gives it a truly dark and uneasy sound that makes women shiver with desire.

Mick Jagger a true star.

Ville Valo-Him considering he has asthma and smokes 80 a day its something of a miracle that he can sing at all,his voice is deep but sensitive with more than a touch of sarcasam on the harder numbers E.G Drown In My Love.
